Risk Reduction through Hope, Education, Advocacy, and Love – In Partnership with The Volusia County Opioid Abatement Board and the Office of Substance Abuse and Mental Health, Florida Department of Children and Families.

Program Description

The H.E.A.L.-VCOA Teams’ major focus is to provide greater access to recovery resources and risk reduction tools like Naloxone, Fentanyl Test Strips, ONEbox‘s, Naloxone Vending Machines and FARR Accredited Housing by Individuals, Families, Businesses, and Visitors impacted by the opioid crisis throughout Volusia County.



FREE Naloxone and Overdose Response, Recognition, and Reversal Training/Fentanyl Test Strip Training- Our Team is available to train your business or organization on how to not only recognize the signs and symptoms of an opioid overdose, but also how to respond and help save a life. FREE Naloxone provided. We attend multiple community events providing this valuable service at NO COST. ONEbox (Emergency Opioid Overdose Response Kit)- The ONEbox is an emergency opioid overdose reversal kit with an embedded training video designed to promote safety by assuring that individuals have life-saving, on-demand training when and where they need it. Naloxone 24/7 FREE Vending Machines- This initiative expands access to life-saving tools by providing 24/7 availability of Naloxone through strategically placed Naloxone Vending Machines at Volusia County local businesses, organizations, and faith institutions Free of Charge. Recovery Housing Assistance – The housing needs of those recently released from incarceration, treatment centers or unhoused situations is at the center of the H.E.A.L. Teams OA2 Grant. Our program assists men and women in obtaining Florida Association of Recovery Residences (FARR) Accredited housing with up to 2 weeks of financial sponsorship.
